privacy

This page explains what happens to your details when you sign up to the Spangled newsletter, and the cookies this website uses. Last updated 1 October 2026.

who we are

Spangled is a band. This website and the newsletter are run by Delgnaps Ltd, a company registered in England (company number 17215225), which is responsible for your data. Where this page says "we" or "us", it means Delgnaps Ltd.

For anything to do with your data, email privacy@spangled.band.

what we collect

When you sign up to the newsletter, we collect your first name, last name and email address.

Like most websites, our server also keeps short-term technical records, such as IP addresses, to keep the site secure and working. We use your IP address briefly to limit repeated sign-up attempts and to filter out automated spam sign-ups; it is not linked to your newsletter details.

Sign-ups that our spam checks identify as automated aren't added to the mailing list. We keep a record of them (name, email address and IP address) for 14 days, so we can spot a real person caught by mistake, then it's deleted automatically.

why we use it

  • To send you the newsletter: news, gig announcements, releases and merch. We do this because you asked us to (your consent), and you can stop it at any time.
  • To keep the site secure: the technical records above, used in our legitimate interest in protecting the site and the mailing list from abuse.

We never sell your details, and we don't use them for anything else.

who else sees it

  • Brevo (Sendinblue SAS, France) sends our emails and holds the mailing list for us.
  • DigitalOcean hosts this website and its database, which keeps a copy of each sign-up so we can check that it reached the mailing list.
  • Blackpig Créatif, our web developer, builds and looks after this site and the mailing list, and can see sign-ups while doing so.

These companies only use your details on our behalf and under our instructions. Where any of them process data outside the UK, appropriate safeguards are in place to protect it.

how long we keep it

We keep your details for as long as you're subscribed. If you unsubscribe, or if our emails to you repeatedly fail or are marked as spam, we delete your details from both our database and Brevo 30 days later.

your rights

You can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of every newsletter, or by emailing us. You also have the right to:

  • ask for a copy of the details we hold about you
  • ask us to correct them, or to delete them
  • object to how we use them

Email privacy@spangled.band and we'll reply within one month. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

cookies

This site uses only the two cookies it needs to work. They don't track you, and there's no analytics or advertising on this site, so there's nothing to accept.

  • spangled_session: keeps the newsletter form working while you fill it in. Expires after 2 hours.
  • XSRF-TOKEN: stops other websites submitting the form in your name. Expires after 2 hours.

Videos: our videos are hosted on YouTube in its privacy-enhanced mode, so nothing loads from YouTube until you press play. Once you do, YouTube may set its own cookies, as described in Google's privacy policy.

Merch shop: the shop at shop.spangled.band runs on Shopify and has its own privacy policy.

changes

If we change how we use your details, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
